The Buddha Aspiration
May I be a guard for those who need protection
A guide for those on the path
A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood
May I be a lamp in the darkness
A resting place for the weary
A healing medicine for all who are sick
A vase of plenty, a tree of miracles
And for the boundless multitudes of living beings
May I bring sustenance and awakening
Enduring like the earth and sky
Until all beings are freed from sorrow
And all are awakened.
- Shantideva, Bodhicaryavatara
may you be well
may you be happy
may you be free
you are welcome here
Ashlyn Bugbee is a student of ancient practices and modern sciences manifested as somatic movement and meditation. Her teachings embody duality, focused both on the yang principles of asana and movement, and lunar principles of yin yoga, restorative and Yoga Nidra.
By drawing wisdom from Buddhist principles & philosophy, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ashlyn interweaves mindfulness and dharma teachings into somatic experiences, allowing for self-inquiry and introspection. She crafts intentional sequences that focus on alignment to awaken the subtle body and stimulate new neuroplastic molding for opportunities to cultivate empowerment and internal support. With a trauma-informed lens, she blends Eastern principles, psychology and asana-based movement to guide practitioners through experiences allowing for integration of mind, body and spirit. Her commitment to being a student inspires her teachings.
With years of experience, Ashlyn leads teacher trainings, workshops, and destination retreats. She humbly pays reverence to her teachers: Kali Basman, Nevine Michaan of Katonah Yoga, Rod Stryker, and Sean Corne.
